sami: TF/trade projects

The basics:

I do not do any projects just for exposure! I only do trade work if I am guaranteed to get images, footage or materials that I feel are beneficial to my portfolio!

The photographers that I work with have access to all of the images we shoot. I'm only asking for the same rights as the photographer.

I am available to volunteer to do Nyotaimori aka naked sushi modeling for fundraisers for non profit organizations. Contact me for details.

Working with me TF:

I like modeling TF for people who pursue photography, makeup artistry, hair styling, body painting, etc, as hobbies. Working on TF projects should be a fun and produce images that all the parties involved in creating them have equal rights and access to.

If you pursue your art form on a professional level as well as a hobby that's fine but if you'd like to work with me and then use the images for some commercial purpose like selling prints, showcasing them in a gallery, or advertising your creative services in some way then you need to pay me to model for you.

Please only contact me about doing TF work if you feel that working together will be mutually beneficial for both our portfolios and if you think working together will be a fun and artistic experience!

I'm currently interested in doing TF shoots for the following:

- headshots
- beauty shoots with makeup artists
- creative hairstylist shoots
- lifestyle
- simple full body shots
- swimsuit
- implied glamour
- body paint shoots with experienced body painters
- gogo dancer theme photo shoots
- import style shoots with cool cars and/or motorcycles
- lingerie if wardrobe is provided that I can keep
- shoots with me wearing my Pikachu costume
- costume themed photo shoots (I have tons of costumes I want to shoot in!)

Conditions for working with me for trade:

I want to receive my images within a week of working with you if not on the same day!

I love shooting TF with people who let me bring my laptop to the shoot and download the images from their camera onto it immediately after the shoot. If you don't want to let me do this because you want to do some post production on the photos that's fine but I want my photos within a week of shooting with you! If you think this is unreasonable maybe we can work something out but generally I like to receive the images from the shoot as soon as possible. I also prefer to get photos that have not been edited in any way so downloading the photos straight from the camera onto my laptop is ideal!

I want commercial rights to the images!

I have an online print store where I like to post images from my shoots for sale. I haven't made hardly any money from this but I figure it's another way for the photographer and myself to get some exposure so it can't hurt. I will of course split any profits that I make with you if our work sells. I don't have a formal contract for this but if you would like to have this agreement in writing you're more than welcome to write the contract yourself for us both to sign. If you don't want me to have commercial rights to the images then you can pay to work with me.

You must be able to provide references!

If you don't credit any models in your portfolio and you can't put me in contact with any models or anyone who you've done photography for who can serve as references then I won't shoot with you. I love meeting new people who I can model for and be creative with but I also have to keep my safety and comfort in mind.

If you watermark your images the watermark must be small and tasteful!

If you insist on putting a huge obnoxious watermark/logo on your images then you need to pay to work with me. A small watermark is fine but it can't be so big or obvious that it distracts from the image itself. This is a major pet peeve of mine!

I want all of the full resolution image files from our shoot!

If we shoot 300 pictures I expect to get 300 pictures at the end of the shoot. If some of the pictures don't come out well that's ok, we can go ahead and delete those, but I put effort into creating all of those images just like you did so I deserve to have access to them all just like you do. And having the image files in full resolution is an absolute must because sometimes I like to make prints of my work for my own personal enjoyment.

We must speak on the phone prior to our scheduled shoot!

Email is a very organized and convenient way of communicating but if you're really serious about wanting to work with me I need to talk to you on the phone before our shoot to confirm we're both on the same page.

I do not require that you rent a studio to shoot with me TF but I do prefer it.

I do not require you to post process any images from a TF shoot with me. I actually prefer the photos to have no post production at all but am ok with them being processed depending on the specific type of shoot we did.

I do not require you to provide a makeup artist or hairstylist to shoot TF with me but if you happen to know someone who is interested in providing these services for trade that would be wonderful.

I do not require that you allow me to bring an escort. I never bring an escort because I never decide to work with anyone who makes me feel like I need to bring an escort with me.

I do not require that you have any commercial experience but instead just ask that if you want to work with me for trade that you be able to demonstrate that you are skilled enough at what you do that getting images from you is compensation enough. You don't have to be a professional to deliver professional results.

Questions to consider if you're interested in working with me TF:

Here are some questions I may ask if you contact me about doing TF work:

- How soon after our shoot can you get the images to me?

- Do you typically do any post production/photo shopping to your images?

- Would you be able to provide me with the full resolution image files of the photos from our shoot?

- Would you be open to submitting the photos from our shoot as a Zivity set? My profile: zivity.com/users/sami

- Would I be able to get the images immediately after the shoot by downloading them onto my laptop that I would bring with me?

- Do you have a studio that we can shoot in?

- Do you typically put a watermark/logo on your images?

- Would you be ok with me submitting some of the images from our shoot to my online print store?

- Do you know of any makeup artists, hair stylists or clothing designers that would be interested in collaborating with us for TF?

- Can you provide me with the email addresses of any models you have worked with in the past so I can contact them as references?

Please also be prepared to provide me with the following information:

- your full name

- phone number

- email address

- link to your portfolio and any other websites where your work is featured

- address of where we will be meeting up/shooting

- your availability/potential days and times for our shoot

- a brief description of what you look like or a photo of yourself so I can easily find you when we meet up

Conclusion:

If you think these conditions are too strict contact me and maybe we can work something out but more than likely I will just suggest you pay to work with me if you can't agree to these terms.

I do modeling because it is a fun way to make money but the most important part of that equation is that it's fun! Since trade work doesn't involve anyone making money it should be a fun experience and should also have the potential for everyone involved to better their portfolios so they can improve their chances of getting noticed and making money from future projects they pursue.

I created my conditions for shooting TF based on my experience shooting with the amazing photographer Mike of modelmayhem.com/nightbeat

Mike was the best photographer I ever worked with because not only was he extremely talented but he was also always considerate and respectful of my needs and my own creative perspective when we did shoots together. He approached photography as a form of pure artistic expression and I truly enjoyed working with him because it was always a creative and productive experience. I wish to honor his memory by treating all the people I work with with my modeling and my own photography in the same respectful and considerate way he treated me.

Thank you and feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
